MASS STATE TROOPER TAMAR A BUCCI
1988-2022
Trooper Tamar Bucci joined the state police in 2020 and was recently assigned to the Medford barracks near where her family lives. Trooper Tamar Bucci
was just as impressive when she was off duty.
Pat Catino was a close friend of Bucci. “Everyone gravitated to her. She lit up the room when she walked in and she was a pleasure to be around,” said Catino.
The 34-year-old worked at Assembly Sports Club before she joined the Massachusetts State Police in 2020. Her former co-workers who are now close friends say Trooper Bucci was special in so many ways. Jo-Anne Sullivan, General Manager of the Assembly Sports Club spoke fondly of Tamar. “She was a very kind and loving girl. In the atmosphere we live in today that is hard to find. She told me her childhood dream was to become a state trooper. Not a police officer, but, a state trooper.”
Trooper Bucci graduated from Andover High School in 2006. Andover Public Schools Communication Director Nicole Kieser released this statement as the news spread of her passing. “Andover Public Schools offers our condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the Massachusetts State Police as we mourn the loss of Trooper Tamar Bucci, who gave her life in the line of duty when her cruiser was struck by another vehicle. Our flags will be at half-staff to honor her memory in-line with Governor Bakers orders.” The Andover Girls’ Hockey and Basketball Teams also held a moment of silence in her honor.
